Zynga Opens LA Studio

Posted February 3, 2010 by David Radd

Zynga is on the forefront of the Facebook games revolution and now the company is expanding. The developer of Mafia Wars and FarmVille is opening a satellite Los Angeles studio in the Marina Del Rey area.

"Zynga LA will be very much like our Zynga East office in Baltimore where it will be a studio for our new games," a Zynga rep said to Gamasutra. “[Zynga is] looking to expand and scale our talent as we grow."

Amer Ajami, who worked on the Command & Conquer franchise at EA, is one of the studio's founding members and shows more of a core gaming bent at Zynga LA. "Zynga has been successful in combining the DNA of traditional gaming with that of the Internet to build a new kind of entertainment company," said the Zynga rep.
