Zynga & Vostu Settle Copyright Lawsuit

Posted December 6, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Zynga and Vostu have settled a copyright lawsuit stemming from allegations that Vostu stole designs and gameplay from Zynga’s biggest titles.  Per the settlement, Vostu will be making changes to four of its titles and will be paying Zynga an undisclosed sum.

“Zynga and Vostu have settled the copyright lawsuits and counterclaims against each other in the United States and Brazil. As part of the settlement, Vostu made a monetary payment to Zynga and made some changes to four of its games. The parties are pleased to have settled their disputes and to now put these matters behind them,” said both companies in a joint statement.

Changes have already been made to Vostu’s MegaCity, Café Mania, Pet Mania, Vostu Poker, and Minifazenda, despite the joint statement only mentioning four titles. This follows Zynga’s earlier win in the case, which Vostu vowed to appeal.  Obviously, that didn’t go too well for them.
