Zelda: Skyward Sword Promised for 'Early 2011'

Posted July 14, 2010 by James Brightman

Aside from the unveiling of the 3DS itself, one of the big game announcements from Nintendo at this year's E3 was of course the next Wii Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which has a revamped visual style when compared to Twilight Princess. Gamers would love to see the title this holiday season, but that's just not happening. The good news, according to Nintendo, is that we shouldn't have to wait too long into 2011 to finally play the next Zelda.

Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, producer Eiji Aonuma commented, "The basis we have now is very, very solid. Early 2011 - that is what we're aiming for."

If we had to guess, that would mean you'll be seeing Skyward Sword before March, as that's when the fiscal year ends for Nintendo, and they'll likely want the sales boost for the current year.

This is great and all, but could you possibly tell us when the Ocarina of Time remake is coming out for 3DS.

We don't even know when the 3DS is coming exactly - don't expect many game release dates before that.
