Today PopCap Games announced that Plants vs. Zombies would be launching on Xbox Live Arcade in early September. The XBLA version of Plants will add more features than any prior version, including seven game modes, two all-new multiplayer modes, 12 unique achievement, 21 mini-games, and the highest resolution (1080p) of any adaptation of the game yet. The title will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15.00).
"With a ton of new features and content exclusive to the XBLA version, we've pulled out all the stops to both expand and optimize this adaptation for a hard core gaming audience," said Ed Allard, head of PopCap Worldwide Studios. "The two new multiplayer modes allow gamers to work cooperatively to defeat hordes of invading zombies, or go head-to-head in a true 'plants vs. zombies' challenge. We're also featuring a customized 'house' for tracking and sharing progress as well as a total of 21 mini-games and 12 achievements, all designed to enthrall Plants vs. Zombies players once again."
Following the release of the XBLA version, Plants vs. Zombies will also be getting a retail release of Xbox 360, with Zuma and Peggle joining it on store shelves. In addition, a new “Game of The Year” edition will see release on PC and Mac, with a limited number including a zombie figure. All of this will retail for $19.99 when it releases later this Fall.
