According to Microsoft's Larry Hryb (aka "Major Nelson"), the company today revealed an impressive new milestone for its Xbox Live online gaming service. Hryb said via his Twitter page that two million gamers had connected to the Xbox Live network at the same time.
This news comes just a couple days after the blockbuster, record-setting launch of Activision's Modern Warfare 2, which sold 4.7 million units between the U.S. and U.K. It's likely that a large percentage of the 2 million Xbox Live connections were driven by Modern Warfare 2 players.
Microsoft also announced today that it's passed the 10 million units sold mark in the EMEA region.
