After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Conan O'Brien will be launching a new show on TBS. While many had expected the talk show host would be going to Fox (and talks did indeed occur with the network), one surprise dark horse in the race was Microsoft.
According to a report from Dateline Hollywood [thanks Kotaku] “there were discussions with Microsoft about an Xbox deal for Conan's show that would have broken new ground.” If the deal would have gone through, it would have been the biggest fulfillment of Microsoft's stated goal of bringing original video content to Xbox Live... thought not having O'Brien means it is still a promise unfulfilled.
