Xbox 360's 'Project Milo' Canned - Report

Posted September 23, 2010 by Ben Strauss

The burgeoning tech demo turned full time Kinect project, Project Milo, has apparently been shut down once and for all, claims an industry source, who also mentions that 19 contractors have been let go.

The studio is reportedly using the technology gleaned from Project Milo to implement new features in a “Fable themed Kinect game."  The staff that remained has been transferred to focus on the Fable franchise.

Though Milo was shown off to warm reception as one of the first examples of then Project Natal's potential back at E3 2009, Lionhead studio boss Peter Molyneux made it firm that prior rumors of cancellations were utter wish-wash. Today though, it seems that Milo has finally bit the bullet in favor of a viable commercial product.

I'm sure this will endear Microsoft to Molyneux's heart forever.
