Microsoft's Project Natal continues to receive praise. Analyst Michael Pachter recently commented that it would easily outsell Sony's competing motion controller, and now the co-founder and former boss of Uncharted 2 developer Naughty Dog has commented on the potential for Natal to really give the Xbox 360 a jolt.
Speaking to GameTrailers on the Bonus Round show, Rubin stated, “I think Natal and things like Natal are going to revolutionize more than gaming. Putting Natal in the Xbox gives it the opportunity to become a lot more than just a gaming machine. The things you can do outside of gaming justifies buying Natal. If Microsoft plays its cards right it can sell far more Xbox's to people who don't buy games.”
One of the neat things about Natal is the way in which it can be used to control the Xbox 360 dashboard and movie playback, with just a wave of the hand in an almost Minority Report type fashion. Indeed, Microsoft said last November that Natal could effectively replace your TV's remote control.
While Natal does appear to be garnering the lion share of the positive press, SCEA's Rob Dyer recently told IndustryGamers that he's not concerned with Microsoft's constant "PR barrage."

"The things you can do outside of gaming justifies buying Natal." Of course! What about countries like Japan where the XBL Marketplace is so lame that it kills the interest of buying a 360? No movies, no music, half less On Demand Games and Demos. It's easy to complain about poor sales in some countries if you don't give interesting content to your users. I just wish Microsoft could push its Japanese 360 a little more, otherwise, Natal will be an epic fail in Japan too.

Japan is just one of those areas that Xbox will always struggle in. The Japanese are not very receptive to western consoles. Sure, MS can (and probably will) continue to throw money at developers and try to gain a better foothold in the region with more marketing, but the ROI is not good. Their business is U.S. and Europe and that's where the attention will be.

I love Japanese culture, and they do love some things American. Look at the clothing, and Jean fads, and music Genres there. But they don't except American consoles. For one thing we have very dark games, and they have very light hearted or "cutesy" games. They do try to buy Japanese. Example, last generation there was the prevailing excuse that Japanese did not buy Xbox(1) because it was too bulky. People bought that line hook and sinker, pointing out how big their living spaces where, or was not. Come PS3 the BIGGEST CONSOLE EVER. If the xbox1 was too big then ps3 was way too big. This is the ultimate test to that excuse. So did they bulk at ps3's size, and not buy it? NO! It is in second place in Japan, and gaining steam before the slim I might add, stumping xbox360 in sales. Proving that very weak excuse was wrong. Same will happen with Natal, unless there is a big catchy application that makes Japanese say, I HAVE TO HAVE THIS, I can't get it anywhere else!
What if there is a top of the line free social, or dating application that bought people in with NATAL? Or a major sims type tie in that bought people in more than WOW bought in South Koreans, and Chinese? Then it would take off. Otherwise Look for NATAL to STUMP people in North America, EU, and other areas that they are strong in.
Con/PROS:
Both Natal and Arc have strong and weak points that they share. Will the NATAL, and ARC make your arms tired? Yes, after hours of gaming. Will Natal make a movie buffs arms tired? NOPE. Will core games need to have standard controller setups along with NATAL/ARC setups? Yes. Have most of the big publishers have more NATAL content? Obviously yes. Will that kill ARC? I think no. Will ARC be successful, I think so. Will NATAL be more successful, I think so. NATAL will attract more people that are not fans of a system than a arc would. And the fact that there is initially way more support for NATAL say so. But there have got to be some games that ARC will feel good with, like for instance virtual cop(ouch I can feel my arms getting heavy just thinking about it). Realistically can a stick be better than 'you' for menu, and menu type navigating? I think not.
I can't wait to play a turn based jrpg with a real menu gesture! First thing I will learn is how to RUN from combat!

Natal's biggest potential is outside of gaming, in my mind. It could be the innovation that kills your TV remote.
