Xbox 360 Slim Seeing 'Amazing Demand' in Europe

Posted July 16, 2010 by Ben Strauss

The new Xbox 360 design is enticing consumers from around the world, boosting sales in markets that have traditionally done poorly for the console. The new Slim model debuted today in Europe to heavy demand, according to European retailer GAME.

GAME Group Plc opened GAME and Gamestation stores across the U.K. in anticipation for a midnight U.K. launch, and eager customers came in droves to get the new console.

"At midnight, over 400 GAME and Gamestation stores opened across the U.K. to allow our customers to get their hands on the new Xbox 360. There has been amazing demand for the new version of this ever-popular console," said Neil Ashurst, Head of PR for GAME and Gamestation.

The Xbox 360 Slim has been gaining ground in all markets released, and its popularity has some analysts believing that the new re-design could be more important to Microsoft’s bottom line than Kinect.
