Witcher Series Sold 1.5 Million Copies in 2011

Posted February 21, 2012 by David Radd

According to CD Projekt Red, the The Witcher series sold over 1.5 million copies in 2011. The second game in the series sold over 1.1 million copies last year, with 270,000 sold on digital distribution platforms, while the original The Witcher sold over 400,000 copies.

"I have to admit, though, that the sales results for The Witcher, five years on from the game's premier, are remarkable," commented CD Projekt Red's managing director Adam Badowski to Eurogamer. "If anything, they prove that the content we put into our games ages well. The Witcher will continue to generate buzz in the coming years."
