Windows 8's App Store 'Profoundly Positive' For PC Gaming, Says Epic

Posted September 5, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Though Epic has been finding some success on iOS of late with Infinity Blade, the publisher still has a strong love for the PC platform. In a few messages on Twitter, Epic vice president Mark Rein admitted his excitement for the Windows 8 App Store Microsoft announced last month.

“Windows 8 getting a proper app store! Woo-hoo! This will be profoundly positive for the future of PC gaming,” tweeted Rein.

“Hopefully it means every single Windows 8 PC will have a pre-installed, trusted, curated, easy-to-use app for buying software,” he continued.

Games For Windows Live hasn't been a successful effort for Microsoft at bringing back the prestige to PC gaming, but perhaps the Windows 8 app store can reach more consumers?
