WildTangent Games Launches Globally

Posted November 17, 2010 by M.H. Williams

WildTangent announced that it's launching its new online games service, WildTangent Games, with a worldwide commercial release. The service has a Games App that optimizes a player's experience and connects them with other popular entertainment like television, music, and social media.

WildTangent has a flexible service, allowing gamers to play a game for free, rent play time in increments using WildCoins virtual currency, or buy the game outright. The free trial is not locked to a specific time period because it is ad-supported. Millions of players on the existing WildGames service will begin migrating over to WildTangent Games and the new App.

"The rental model is quite accepted when it comes to consumers' movie watching habits. It makes perfect sense for online games as well," said Sean Vanderdasson, senior vice president at WildTangent. "We've seen a continued trend toward game rental in our service; and we continue to hear from our game players that they really value having that choice."

WildTangent Games includes hardcore titles like Splinter Cell and Dead Rising, casual games like Bejeweled, and children’s games from Disney and Nickelodeon. In a few months, WildTangent will also being featuring social titles.
