WiiWare Games Can Now Be Played in Demo Form

Posted November 18, 2010 by James Brightman

It's something so basic in today's gaming marketplace - demos - and yet Nintendo's WiiWare service didn't offer them. Well, two years later, the WiiWare service will finally let people demo titles. Starting November 22, you'll be able to visit the Wii Shop Channel to access demo versions of WiiWare games without using up any Wii Points.

Nintendo said that the initial lineup of demos available includes BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves, ThruSpace and Jett Rocket. The company noted that, "Additional demos will be added on Mondays and each will remain available on the Wii Shop Channel for a limited time."

Judging by this statement, we're not sure how many of the existing WiiWare games will be receiving demos. We also don't think it's the best strategy for Nintendo to only make the demos available for a "limited time."
