Wii U Titles Trademarked

Posted July 21, 2011 by Ben Strauss

A whole batch of trademarks has popped up from Nintendo, indicating that they are possibly looking into next-gen titles for some of their most popular games from the Wii.  While none of this confirms any actual development of said titles, the history of Nintendo does offer some credence that consumers are in for more Wii Sports, Wii Fit and other popular titles.

The full list:

  • Wii U + Logo
  • Mii U
  • Wii Fit U
  • Wii Sports U
  • Wii Music U
  • Wii Party U
  • Wii Play U
  • WiiWare I
  • Wii Balance Board U
  • Balance Board Wii U
  • Wii Wheel U
  • Wii Zapper U
  • Wii U Fit
  • Wii U Music
  • Wii U Party
  • Wii U Play
  • Wii U Ware
  • Wii U Balance Board
  • Wii U Wheel
  • Wii U Zapper
  • Wii Speak U
  • Wii U Speak
  • Shield Pose

The vast majority of these titles are recognizable, sans the addition of the U, but one in particular looks pretty interesting.  The Shield Pose title was demoed at E3 this year, and could indicate that a full launch is in order.
