Wii Miis Could Come to 3DS

Posted July 8, 2010 by M.H. Williams

Nintendo has already said that they have a revolutionary new online strategy in place for the 3DS, but it looks like they may also add in something more familiar. In speaking with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that the 3DS may see the inclusion of Miis. IGN asked Miyamoto about Mii avatars on 3DS in light of the Pilotwings Resort demo, which contained Mii avatars for player characters.

“We need to keep in mind how we evolve the Miis and how we think about compatibility with Miis between different systems, but that's something that we're definitely giving consideration to and want to continue to try to allow people to use their Miis on different Nintendo systems going forward,” responded Miyamoto.

There was no further clarification, so it remains unclear if the systems will be shared or if separate Miis will be required for each online space.
