Time Warner has posted its highest revenue growth for two years, resulting from an 8 percent rise in revenues for the second quarter.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, responsible for digital media and publishers of LEGO video games saw revenues increase by $183 million to a total of $2.5 billion. The rise was greatly attributed to the success of LEGO Harry Potter, which has shipped over 2.7 million copies since its June 29 release.
"Time Warner delivered another quarter of strong financial and operating performance. Our revenue increased at its highest rate in two years, driving 15 percent growth in adjusted operating income," said chairman and chief executive officer Jeff Bewkes.
Time Warner did see strong revenue gains thanks in part to the cinematic group within the company. The blockbuster success of Inception was a leading factor in revenue gains, but the company acknowledged that the marked increase in gaming sales was a driving factor for the performance of the quarter.
