Wal-Mart's GameCenter Will Feature Gaikai

Posted June 21, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Gaikai has announced that it has signed an agreement with Wal-Mart to provide game streaming services for the retail giant’s new GameCenter website.  This makes another large partner for Gaikai after the announcement that the Eurogamer Network was also using the tech. Gaikai CEO Dave Perry has confirmed the existence of the deal to VentureBeat.

“Over the next 12 months, when people see a video game on TV and want to try it out, they can be sure the fastest way will be on Walmart’s website,” said Perry.  ”It’s an exciting time and you’ll see more sites around the world doing these stealth launches with us.”

Perry said that Gaikai is currently in talks with 20 publishers to provide content for the service, with Electronic Arts already on board.
