Another week of Media Create sales numbers (via Andriasang) is not making the Japanese run for the PlayStation Vita look any better. For the week of February 6 through February 12, the portable continued its slump, dropping another 3,202 units to hit 13,939 units sold. This puts the system below its predecessor the PSP, and leaves it with only 20 percent of the sales numbers for its competitor, Nintendo 3DS.
The hardware chart is below, with the previous week’s numbers in parentheses:
- 3DS: 67,558 (75,018)
- PS3: 22,002 (23,293)
- PSP: 15,860 (15,847)
- PSV: 13,939 (17,141)
- Wii: 8,206 (8,814)
- PS2: 1,239 (481)
- X360: 1,139 (1,382)
- DSi LL: 957 (1,090)
- DSi: 651 (669)
On the bright side, Sony’s Gravity Daze for Vita hit #2 on the software chart for the week with 43,462 units sold. It was beaten in the #1 spot by the new Suikoden game for PSP, Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki, which sold 61,784 units.
