Virtual Goods Sales Increasing Steadily, says Kongregate

Posted March 23, 2010 by David Radd

Kongregate has announced [thanks VentureBeat] that its revenue from virtual goods micro-transactions has been increasing by 30 percent every month. The San Francisco company did not give a specific dollar amount for its game site, which is still in beta, but did say it now comprises one-third of their revenue.

The Konduit application platform, where games are free but players buy virtual goods, has proven successful since it was launched in December and has helped make up for diminishing ad-based revenue. Kongregate will also be launching the anticipated Remnants of Skystone publicly to their 8.5 million monthly unique users.
