Valve Promises Three 'Big Surprises' in 12 Months

Posted September 1, 2010 by Ben Strauss

E3 2010 was the start of something big for Valve. Gabe Newell, awkwardly stepping out on stage was a moment that few could forget  as Portal 2 and Steamworks were officially announced for the PS3. Besides announcing the game for PS3, Newell assured the audience that Portal 2 for PS3 would be the ‘best version’ of the game, bar none.

It would seem that this is the just the start for Valve’s surprise wagon, as Gabe Newell, speaking to PC Gamer, “can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do. That isn’t going to stop any time soon. I’m just laughing because…people will be shocked again.”

“We have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least,” he added.

With the recent trademark filing for Defense of the Ancients, one would lean towards thinking that an updated real-time strategy game is in the works. Of course, no one would complain if the G-Man showed up.

In before someone asks for Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

Screw just doing episodes, lot of people lost interest in HL2 after the first episode, should just make HL3 and people would be happy again.
