Uncharted 3 Ships 3.8 Million Copies on Day One

Posted November 10, 2011 by James Brightman

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception launched back on November 1, and we're now getting the first indication of how the game's performing. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has revealed that day one shipments of the game totaled 3.8 million units, although a sell through number wasn't provided.

"Uncharted 3 is a blockbuster and these incredible sales figures reflect that. Consumers are clearly as eager to play the game as critics were to heap praise upon it, and the team at Naughty Dog deserve this fantastic reception at retail," said SCEE spokesperson Nick Caplin.

The Uncharted franchise has sold well over 8 million units so far, and the third game in the series should elevate that number quite a bit while bolstering Sony's big holiday push. There's also an Uncharted game in the works for next year's PlayStation Vita.
