Over the weekend, Spike TV aired its seventh annual VGAs, and Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 cleaned, winning awards for Game of the Year, Best PS3 title, and best graphics. The only other titles to win multiple awards were Infinity Ward's record-setting Modern Warfare 2, which won for best multiplayer and best shooter, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Best Cast and Best Performance by Human Male).

The award show was better this year, but still far from perfect. There were some cool moments, like the intro with the Joker's voice over and Stevie Wonder giving out the best music game award, but there were still overly long musical breaks and awkward presenters (Mike Tyson and the Jersey Shore cast... really?).
At least good arguments could be made for all of this year's winners winning. I predicted that Uncharted 2 will be this year's BioShock:James can back me up on this. It'll be interesting to see how it does at the GDCAs and the IAAs.

Uncharted 2 definitely deserved the win. It was the best game I played this year. I look forward to Uncharted 3.
