Ubisoft got something of a surprise with The Smurfs & Co, which is currently the number one license-based title on Facebook. The game has been at the top for two weeks, setting a company record. Ubisoft has announced a total of 3,902,785 monthly active users since July 29.
“Ubisoft is incredibly pleased with how popular The Smurfs & Co game has been among players,” said Chris Early, vice president of digital publishing, Ubisoft. “Ubisoft has become a global gaming partner for The Smurfs brand by offering consumers a range of fun Smurfs games to play including the entertaining The Smurfs & Co Facebook game, The Smurfs Dance Party on Wii, and The Smurfs on DS.”
Ubisoft plans to launch the title in Japan on the Mixi social network to coincide with the release of the movie to Asian markets this September.
