Ubisoft announced today the return of a classic franchise to the PC, with Might & Magic Heroes VI seeing a release on PC in 2011. The new title is being developed by Black Hole Entertainment, the studio behind Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and Armies of Exigo. Might & Magic Heroes VI will include new gameplay innovations in addition to all the features players have come to expect from the Heroes of Might & Magic franchise.

The game begins 400 years prior to the events of Heroes of Might & Magic V, when a legendary Archangel killed during the War of the Elder Races returns to bring vengeance to those who killed him. Using a demon invasion as a cover, he begins to unite the people of Ashan against his enemies. Unbeknownst to him, a human dynasty called the Griffin Dukes will be more than just a bump on his road to revenge.
Players will control the heroes of the Griffin dynasty, choosing and customizing their own personal story. New 3D landscapes and creatures of the world of Ashan will greet heroes on their journey. Turn-based strategy gameplay and RPG gameplay meet again as gamers gather and train troops to help their heroes take back their world. A new online community interface will allow players to compete with friends and share new content.

“Might & Magic is a powerful franchise with an amazing 20-year legacy,” said Adam Novickas, Ubisoft U.S. director of marketing. “Players will be able to enjoy the Heroes experience like never before. The amazing creative teams at Black Hole Entertainment are keeping the original Heroes spirit, while enhancing the RPG elements.”
