Twisted Metal to Receive Online Pass Against Developer Wishes

Posted January 23, 2012 by Ben Strauss

The reboot to the Twisted Metal franchise is coming packed with the latest and greatest in gaming technology, including the now trendy Online Pass.  The news was confirmed at CES by Twisted Metal’s QA lead, prompting many to despair over the revelation that a used copy of the game would be bring about extra cost.

David Jaffe, creator of the Twisted Metal series, has also publicly stated that he is against the addition of the Online Pass, saying “It's not my call and I'd totally understand if Sony as a company said 'Look, this is a mandate that permeates all of our titles. We're not making selective choices.'”

He did acknowledge that he understood Sony’s position, saying that it was “probably good for business.”
