Tony Hawk, Robomodo Meeting Over Next Project

Posted January 22, 2010 by David Radd

Talk of a Tony Hawk: Ride sequel was open even at E3 2009 and the titular skateboarder himself was enthusiastic over its prospects mere days after its release. While Activision has had time to fully absorb how poorly the game did, Tony Hawk indicated via Twitter that he's met with developer Robomodo about... something.

“Just met with Robomodo about our next project and it's already much better than I expected. Details soon,” wrote Hawk, who added, “Chicago is not warm.”

Hawk has been an outspoken proponent of his own title, calling out critics of the game and offering Xbox Live friendship for Tony Hawk: Ride users.

David Radd has worked as a gaming journalist since 2004 at sites such as GamerFeed, Gigex and GameDaily Biz.

There should definitely be a version two of this game. They just need to fix the glitches and improve the board (while bring the cost down, even if they have to take a loss!) and it will be a smash.

TH:R was much better in theory than it was in execution. Thing is, if they put out a sequel they'd want it to be compatible with the first board, and if the problems with TH:R stem from issues with the board rather than the software, then there's only so much they can improve the experience.
