Tomb Raider Movie Reboot Planned for 2013

Posted March 8, 2011 by James Brightman

Eight years after the last Tomb Raider movie, it seems as though the franchise is looking for a completely new makeover.  The new title is set to focus on a younger Lara Croft, and so to will the new film.  Produced by Graham King of GK Films, the new title will “create daring new adventures for the young and dynamic Lara Croft.”

Tomb Raider is also in the midst of a reboot from the gaming side as well, with a new title being revealed only just recently.  The latest game will take a turn for the survivalist genre, acting as an ‘origin’ story of sorts for the gaming icon.  GK Films did use an image of the new game within their press release, perhaps hinting at the movie’s subject matter.

GK Films has offered little else on the project, save for a targeted release date of 2013.
