Tokyo Game Show Sets Attendance Record at 222K

Posted September 19, 2011 by Ben Strauss

The totals have rolled in from the four-day spectacle that was the Tokyo Game Show.  With it all said and done and the dust finally settled, a total of 222,668 people tromped around the show room floor, setting yet another record for the show’s attendance.

Compared to last year’s number of 207,000 (a record itself, at the time), the new figure represents a 7% increase overall.  Day one alone saw a record broken as well, with over 86,251 people seeing the sights.  By Sunday, attendance dropped slightly at 83,744.

There you have it; E3, GamesCom and Tokyo Game show are done for 2011.  With a big E3, an even bigger GamesCom, Tokyo Game Show has rammed it home that 2011 has been a fantastic year for gaming.

The Tokyo Game Show for 2012 is set for September 20 to September 23 at the Makuhari Messe Convention center.
