THQ Australia Cuts 19 Percent Of Workforce

Posted February 28, 2011 by M.H. Williams

In an attempt to cuts costs, THQ has decided to let go of 14 employees at its Australian studio. The studio is primarily a developer of licensed family games, including Megamind Ultimate Showdown and Avatar: The Last Airbender. The studio is now left with around 60 members.

"We have let 14 employees go at our THQ Australia studio. In the normal course of business, we expect to adjust our workforce both up and down as required by project needs," the company told GI.biz in a statement.

GI.biz was told by an anonymous source that most of the job cuts were in the art department
