The Sims Social Getting Distribution Deal in China

Posted February 13, 2012 by Ben Strauss

EA has today revealed that a partnership with publisher Tencent will result in one of the most popular social games coming to China.  The Sims Social will be offered by Tencent later this year thanks to a new agreement between the two publishing juggernauts.

The game will launch on Tencent’s Open Platform social network, and will work with expanded design and art.  The game will be receiving full localization, thanks to development by EA’s Playfish studio in Beijing.

The Sims Social remains a popular social title in the West on Facebook, with well over 50 million monthly active users gained during the first month of play.  The game was even able to take FarmVille down a peg in that time.
