The anticipated Test Drive Unlimited sequel was set for release sometime in Q4 2010. It has now been announced that the game will be delayed until sometime next year at the behest of Atari.
Atari has stated that the game will miss the original release date in order to “fully enhance the connected console multi-player experience for consumers." David Nadal, studio manager of developer Eden Games, also provided the following quote: "By moving the title's release date to early 2011, we will be able to further advance the game and take into account consumer feedback to help ensure we deliver a great online lifestyle racing experience."
Test Drive Unlimited 2 did have a beta planned, and it has been acknowledged that this too will be delayed. The official statement about the beta is that it is coming in a matter of weeks and that those who signed up to play will receive an exclusive in-game item as compensation for the delay.

Meh. The racer market is so saturated right now. There are so many high quality games already out there that new entrants don't get much attention. Both Blur & Split/Second were good racers that bombed.

They probably don't want to go head to head with Gran Turismo 5 either.
