Tekken Movie Trailer Debuts

Posted January 21, 2010 by David Radd

The new trailer for the Tekken movie is out, the thought of which probably makes most fans of the seminal fighting series wince. Still, as the linked video bellow demonstrates, there have been many worse examples of game-based movies in our times.

The action sequences, at least, seem well developed. As far as we can gather, the movie is a retelling of the story surrounding Tekken 3 where Jin Kazama seeks to confront his mother's killer, Ogre, at the Iron Fist tournament. The movie reminds us of Mortal Kombat, another film based around a fighting game that paid tribute to the series lore while establishing a unique plot that even someone unfamiliar with the series could enjoy. It could only be better than Dead or Alive and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

Of course, Tekken could easily join the list of terrible yet financially viable game movies.

Definitly not the worse video game trailer I've seen. That would be all of Uwe Boll's movies.
