Suda51 says 'We've Done Everything We Can With the Wii'

While the Wii has fans among the core gaming crowd, many titles released on the Wii for that audience have struggled at retail, and partially because of these difficulties, Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda indicates that the No More Heroes franchise will expand beyond the Wii platform.

“I really want to make No More Heroes a big franchise,” said Suda to Edge, “and with this second episode have bigger success. I’m putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there’s a lot of potential."

“I think this is the last No More Heroes that is going to be developed on Wii,” he added. “To expand No More Heroes to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now.”

Recent comments made to Famitsu via 1UP indicate that the franchise may next appear on the Xbox 360 using the Natal camera. "We developed No More Heroes with the Wii remote in mind, but now I want to think about games with Natal in mind," said Suda. "I have to ask myself, as a game designer, what new games can be done with this, what can be an interesting experience and challenge, and I'm looking forward to that."

What, no love for Sony's motion controller?

PS Move actually seems like it would be the ideal controller for a third No More Heroes, as opposed to Natal, which should really get a new IP rather than a shoehorned experience meant for a controller.
