Sucker Punch Hiring for Online Component in Next Title

Posted November 17, 2009 by David Radd

inFamous released only a few months ago, but indications are that Sucker Punch is working on its next project. According to a job listing (spotted by CVG), the developer is looking to hire a network programmer for their next PS3 project.

“We are evaluating focused, easy to work with, and professional candidates to implement the on-line component for our forthcoming AAA title,” reads the post. “We seek bright, energetic, and talented individuals who share our love of videogames and our passion for creating innovative and fun experiences. This job will involve both client-side and server-side work, and will be done primarily in C++.”

While the game title was not mentioned specifically in the job posting, an earlier revelation by voice actor David Sullivan that the sequel to inFamous was being cast may have already let the cat out of the bag. If this is true, it would make inFamous the latest single-player property to go multiplayer in its sequel. Things worked out pretty well for Uncharted 2 with its multiplayer component, and just the idea of a competitive mode with super powers sounds intriguing.
