Steam Quietly Launches Coupon Service

Posted December 7, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Eagle-eyed users of Valve’s Steam service noted an additional item on the Steam Support page today, mentioning something called Steam Coupons.  Coupons would allow publishers and developers the ability to offer targeted discounts to users, instead of an all-or-nothing Steam Sale.

According to the page, the coupons will be for a single use and will leave your Steam Inventory once used. Steam will apply any valid coupons automatically when users add an applicable title to their cart. Coupons can also have an expiration date.

Blue’s News also reports that Steam coupons will be tradable.
