Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Executive Producer Resigns from LucasArts

Posted July 29, 2010 by Ben Strauss

The executive producer and writer of The Force Unleashed, Haden Blackman, has announced that he has resigned from LucasArts after 13 years with the company. Blackman, who also helped to produce Star Wars: Galaxies, Star Wars: Force Commander and multiple comics and novels, has decided to leave the company to pursue other goals.

“I’ve had a fantastic time working with the team at Lucasfilm and am really grateful for their ongoing support,” Blackman said in a statement, per IGN. “While the decision to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or come easily, I really feel that now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career.” Blackman is the latest in a string of executive resignations from LucasArts.

LucasArts has stated that Blackman’s departure will not affect The Force Unleashed 2, set for release on October 26 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
