Star Wars: The Old Republic, combining both an involving story with a large persistent world, is one of the most anticipated MMO titles on the market. Electronic Arts isn't skimping on the title, and chief financial officer Eric Brown confirmed the game is the "largest ever development project, period, in the history of the company.”
While he estimated that most boxed products at EA cost $30 million to make "any MMO costs significantly more than that.” When asked about how much it took to launch and support World of Warcraft, Brown estimated around $100 million, which is roughly what Blizzard makes in monthly subscription fees. "That's lifetime [research and development] to actually ship it and obviously then there's maintenance subsequent to ship and expansion packs," Brown said at the Wedbush Morgan Securities meeting attended by Eurogamer.

I'm not saying streaming will single handedly kill consoles. But it's another factor in the question, what's the point of building a more powerful console for release in the foreseeable future? (other than for Nintendo maybe, for whom raising the horsepower bar still has a point given the installed base of current display technology). scan for driver

I hate to admit it, especially since I like Nintendo's franchises more, but Sony arguably has the best first party development studios. Though no slouch in this department, MS puts less emphasis on first party besides Halo and it shows. They are clearly third in this respect, but that doesn't mean they're not still impressive. internet faxes
