Deep Silver announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Square Enix to distribute Techland’s Dead Island in North and South America.  The game is a first-person shooter with four player co-op taking place on an island sandbox environment filled with zombies.  Dead Island burst onto the scene with the release of a trailer on Youtube, which currently has over 4.1 million views.

“Square Enix’s impressive distribution and marketing capabilities, combined with their  proven success with launching top-notch AAA titles, makes them the absolute best partner for Dead Island,” said Deep Silver COO Geoff Mulligan. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with their dedicated and talented team and look forward to collaborating with them in order to bring Dead Island to gamers.”

"Dead Island is a truly extraordinary title and we couldn’t be more excited about leveraging our unified Square Enix resources in bringing it to audiences in the Americas," said Mike Fischer, CEO of Square Enix.

Dead Island is scheduled for release later this year on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
