Square Enix Announces Mike Fischer as New President and CEO of U.S. Operations

Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. president and CEO Yoichi Wada today has announced that Mike Fischer will take the lead at U.S.-based Square Enix subsidiary, Square Enix, Inc. Fischer will oversee operations of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. brands such as Square Enix, Eidos and Taito in the Americas.

"We are pleased to have the benefit of Mike's global leadership experience in interactive entertainment and look forward to the significant contribution he will bring to the growth of our North American business," said Wada.

Fischer has spent over 20 years in the video game industry with experience at both Japanese and U.S. companies including Namco, Sega and Microsoft, for which he recently held the role as consumer & online marketing officer in the U.K.

With Fischer taking on the role as CEO and president, the previous CEO and president, John Yamamoto, will be taking on the role of Executive Advisor. “We sincerely thank John for his years of hard work in the role and are pleased that he will continue to support us as an advisor,” Wada added.
