Spy Hunter Movie Races Forward

Posted March 25, 2010 by David Radd

The rights to the Spy Hunter movie franchise, one of the minor spoils of the Warner Bros. acquisition of Midway, may bear fruit in the next couple years. According to Variety, Warner Bros. is moving forward with a movie project produced by Vertigo members Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Roy Lee.

Chad St. John will pen the screenplay, having previously worked on Days Before, Sgt. Rock and Motor City. Jon Berg will manage the film for Warner Bros, while Doug Davison will be executive producer and Stephen Gilchrist will be co-producer.

A Spy Hunter movie was in the works at Universal a few years ago, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attached to star. Ultimately, the movie's tie-in game, Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, released in 2006 without the planned accompanying movie, though Johnson still contributed his voice and likeness to the game.
