Since Disney’s shift away from console development, Black Rock Studios has been operating on life support. Today, the support finally ran out and the studio has officially closed, per Disney’s final judgment on July 1.
"[Black Rock] officially closes its doors today," former studio director Nick Baynes wrote on Twitter. "Thoughts go out to all facing their last day. A bright future awaits all though I'm sure!"
Baynes is currently the studio director for Roundcube Entertainment, one of three studios that have already formed in the wake of Black Rock’s closure. The other studios are ShortRound Games and Boss Alien.
