The PS Vita has officially launched in the U.S., and things seem to be very positive for Sony. The company might be facing an uphill battle against the 3DS and rock-bottom sales in Japan, but the Vita seems to be doing well in the first 24 hours for the North American launch.
Speaking with IGN, Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO and president Jack Tretton made it clear that Sony is seeing a “very, very positive” sales forecast right now, and that peripheral items are definitely making a good push for sales.
Without going into specifics, Tretton added that "memory is going out the door very aggressively despite the fact that memory is in a lot of the presale bundles. The software appears to be selling quite well top to bottom."
As far as software sales, “Uncharted is far and away the big winner," Tretton revealed, "but I think we kind of knew that."
