Sony Sets New Controller in Motion

Posted September 24, 2009 by David Radd

Sony Computer Entertainment today confirmed that the Motion Controller will release in Spring 2010. The device comes equipped with two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer that, when combined with the PlayStation Eye camera, can detect precise movement of the device. The sphere on top is vital to tracking the position of the controller and can also be lit in different colors.

The first set of games designed for the Motion Controller will include Ape Escape, Echochrome 2, Eccentric Slider, Sing and Draw, Champions of Time, Motion Party, The Shoot and Tower. Certain games, like Pain, Flower, Hustle Kings, High Velocity Bowling, EyePet and LittleBigPlanet, will be modified to use the motion controller while a director's cut of Resident Evil 5 will also be released that will support the device.
