Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed to Destructoid that it will be including an online pass code with Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, similar to the one used for the recent release of Resistance 3. The code is necessary in order to access the multiplayer modes for both titles, and Sony had decided to use the system in all future titles that feature an online component.
"Online Pass will be incorporated into Uncharted 3 and future Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) games with online functionality," the company said in a statement. "We will provide further information in the future."
Do online passes bother you? They bothered Jim Sterling - the author of the above news item – enough that he created a three-part series on used gaming and online passes for his video show, the Jimquisition. At what point does a company protecting its assets switch over to harming the consumer experience?
