Sony Says PS3 Hardware, Software Sales See 'Double-Digit Growth' in September 2011

Posted October 13, 2011 by David Radd

Sony released a response to the NPD sales, which as usual, does not include any precise hardware numbers. Resistance 3 did take sixth place among all software titles for September 2011.

“NPD’s September report saw double-digit growth for both PS3 software (52 percent) and hardware (20 percent), as increasing brand awareness continues to fuel interest with consumers,” Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at SCEA. “First-party software sales remained strong this month, with boosts from blockbuster titles like Resistance 3. The lower PS3 console price point and the upcoming release of exciting titles – Uncharted 3, Everybody Dance and Ratchet and Clank – will continue PlayStation’s momentum into the holiday season.”
