Sony Reveals Top PSN Downloads of 2009

Posted January 15, 2010 by James Brightman

Following yesterday's year-end 2009 NPD sales figures, Sony Computer Entertainment America revealed the top paid downloads on its PlayStation Network for 2009. SCEA previously revealed that December was the best month ever for PSN, as revenue climbed 155% year-over-year.

Here are the top 10 paid downloads, based on SCEA's internal data:

  1. Call Of Duty: World At War Map Pack 1
  2. Call Of Duty: World At War Map Pack 2
  3. Call Of Duty: World At War Map Pack 3
  4. FIFA 09 Gold Pack
  5. Final Fantasy VII (PS3/PSP)
  6. Battlefield 1943
  7. Fat Princess
  8. Marvel Vs Capcom 2
  9. Flower
  10. Mortal Kombat II

As is evident from the above chart, Activision continues to rake in the money with their downloadable content for the Call of Duty franchise. Activision has done a masterful job of keeping gamers interested with continued updates. Analyst Ben Schachter said in November that he thinks Call of Duty DLC could generate $140 million in 2010.
