A must for every gaming geek's collection!
Sony's got a great property in God of War and they know it. It comes as no surprise that the company wants to leverage the IP to their best ability. Not only is a God of War movie being planned, but today Sony announced a number of partnerships surrounding the franchise.
In October, United Cutlery will create a scaled replica of Kratos’ Blades of Chaos, which "will stretch 20 13/16” overall and will be designed with a 12 7/16” blade constructed from solid-cast zinc aluminum with a custom-etched mold texture, and unique fantasy grindings that mirror the piece used in the game. The handle grip is injection-molded and surrounded by an intricate, detailed cast-metal guard and pommel."
Also in October, DC Comics will kick off a comic book series their WildStorm imprint. The six-issue God of War series will be written by comics legend Marv Wolfman (The New Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths) and will be released on a monthly schedule, leading right up to the anticipated March 2010 release of God of War III on PS3.
Finally, starting next March, Del Rey (an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group) will publish two God of War novels. The first one will be written by Matthew Stover and will be available in March, while the second one will follow at a later date.
