Sony Introduces PlayStation 'Lifestyle' Apparel

Posted July 27, 2010 by Ben Strauss

A new Licensing program from Sony will enable licensees the ability to design ‘lifestyle’ items such as apparel, accessories, housewares and other appliances around the ‘iconic’ PlayStation logo.

SCE will provide the "Official Licensed Product logo" to be used on product packages, proving that the products comply with the guidelines and have been approved by SCE. Further details on the "Logo Licensing Program" are available on the official site.

This targeted lifestyle licensing opportunity follows the June 2009 introduction of an official licensing program aimed at PlayStation peripherals and accessories. The program offers 123 items from 45 licensees, says Sony.

Sony intends to use the licensing program to “deliver various quality lifestyle products that will make the PlayStation brand more accessible than ever."
