It was a good Christmas for Sony Computer Entertainment, selling 3.8 million PS3s worldwide and 1.7 million units in the U.S. Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior director of corporate communications and social media Patrick Seybold indicates to Kotaku that December 2009 saw "the single highest selling month for PS3 hardware and software since its launch in the U.S.," with a 90 percent increase in hardware sales on top of a 60 percent bump for software from December 2008.
On top of that, Seybold said that PlayStation Network benefited from the "single highest revenue month, jumping 155 percent from December 2008 in North America." Final Fantasy VIII was the most downloaded title, followed by Q-Games' PixelJunk Shooter.
The December 2009 results from the NPD should release later today, which will give a more complete picture of how each console fared in the U.S.

Yet I don't remember a single game coming out that month on PSN that I wanted. Great for sony but more games please. I'd like Fighting Force 2 and Apocalypse ps1 classics and add a bunch of PS2 games. Let's get cracking with this already.
