Sony Completes Motion Sensing Trifecta

Posted June 2, 2009 by David Radd

Not to be outdone by Microsoft's Natal and Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus, Sony unveiled new motion sensing technology today at E3.  Using a plastic wand with a light at the end, it interacts with the PlayStation Eye to sense movement.

The device can be rendered as any number of objects in game, like a bat, sword or gun, on screen.  Several tech demos were shown, where the precision was demonstrated by writing on a virtual wall, two wands were used to build with blocks and shooting a bow and arrow.  The motion sensing device will launch in 2010.
